In times past, we have endeavored to build a church dedicated to our Lord. But God, in His wisdom, appointed a better time for the building of His house. We believe that now is that time.
After much praying and searching, we were able to find a piece of land in the outskirts of the city, fairly large and reasonably priced. It costs less than half the price of lots its size. Finding this piece of land renewed in us the hope and desire not only to build a church for God, but to establish other ministerial institutions as well.
In September 2011, by the grace of God, we were able to acquire the land on a ten-year amortization plan. Church members, young and old, got together at least once each week to clean up the 5,120 square meter lot that had been abandoned for 14 years. Finally, in October 2011, we were able to move into the land with its four dilapidated buildings. One of these buildings has since been slightly improved to become the gathering hall for church services. The other two buildings were used as a kitchen and missionaries' quarters. The fourth building, which is by the entrance, will become an office and business center where we hope to put on sale farm produce and health products in order to help support the church building project.
The task before us is not an easy one. But our faith is firm. "As the will of man co-operates with the will of God, it becomes omnipotent. Whatever is to be done at His command may be accomplished in His strength. All His biddings are enablings." {COL 333}. And like Nehemiah, we believe that "the God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build."
